memorable memories
My most memorable time was when I went to Beijing. I was in Primary Five then. It was the first time I sat on the aeroplane by myself. I was very excited, but at that time in Beijing, it was at sixteen degrees. As such, we have to wear our coat to keep warm. The airport in Beijing was much more different then Singapore but also very nice. We went to Beijing’s famous restaurant to have our dinner and to our surprise, they actually served French fries after all the dishes. It was also the first time I stayed in the hotel with my friend. As we were very excited about what we were going to do the next day, we couldn’t sleep, and by the time we slept, it was already very late. The following days, we went to the different famous places and the guide was describing about the long history of Beijing and many more.
Finally, the day came where we went to climb the Great Wall of China. It was really thrilling. The stairs were not as even as we thought it was, some were high and some were low. There was a tourist that requested that I take a picture for them; I was taken aback but finally accepted their request. The steps were so uneven that I have to literally climb on all fours. After some hard work, we finally finished. All of us were overwhelmed with accomplishment. At about midnight, we boarded the plane with reluctance. We could not bear to leave the place, but we bid the place farewell and finally got back to Singapore.Labels: Iris
